Repeats Option for Wasatch SoftRIP

The Repeats option for Wasatch SoftRIP handles textile designs created in dedicated CAD software, as well as in popular applications such as Adobe PhotoShop. It can produce endless repeats on inkjets, electrostatic plotters, and thermal imagesetters.

More than a simple "step and repeat" stage in an ordinary PostScript RIP, Wasatch SoftRIP uses special halftoning and resampling algorithms to ensure seamless repeats. Simply open a single repeat, whether as PostScript or Tiff file, and use the new "Repeat" tools to produce flawless yardage. Continuously variable drops and slides increase your design options, and independent "stretch" controls allow you to adjust for issues such as shrinkage and drum circumference.

You can use any printer supported by Wasatch SoftRIP - that's nearly every large format inkjet on the market today! All the standard Wasatch tools for ICC color management and job queuing are available, and special "standard" color configurations for Wasatch SoftRIP are already available from various digital fabric companies.

Printing from CAD Software

Most CAD programs generate PostScript or Tiff, formats that were developed for general purpose printing, but not for the textile industry. Even for small designs, large and inefficient files must be sent to the printer. Output colors are limited by these intermediate formats, and general purpose screening just doesn't ensure seamless repeats.

Wasatch SoftRIP eliminates these problems by accepting a single repeat pattern and efficiently repeating it during printing. No more gigabyte files when printing yardage! Any length can be printed from a small file containing a single repeat. Specialized resampling and halftoning eliminates seams between repeats.

Textile Design with Popular Graphics Software

Wasatch SoftRIP handles the generation of repeats and drops from a single repeat, and it accepts such file formats as PostScript, PDF, EPS, and Tiff. This enables you to produce yardage from designs created with graphic design software such as Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Corel Draw, and others.
